Psychedelic medicine is something we have not been able to fully understand or explain yet with current technology. In 1970 the Controlled Substance Act made many of these mind altering molecules illegal to possess and consume. The substances currently outlawed include those made in a laboratory as well as those made purely in nature. Many are gaining acceptance due to a renewed interest in therapeutic and spiritual use. See Provider page for April’s psychedelic credentials.

Ketamine

April is now offering ketamine at the Healing Art Center on Orcas or in the privacy of your own home. She came to find this medicine through family loss to suicide and her own mental health recovery. Ketamine may be used to treat depression, pain and inflammation.

It is a schedule III controlled substance and legal to administer in an outpatient setting. This is the same category as testosterone. It is classified as a dissociative anesthetic with psychedelic properties. You can read about the full history, effects and uses here. You probably know someone who is already receiving this life saving therapy.

April has the unique ability to combine ketamine with bodywork to maximize the neuroplastic window and assist the body in reprogramming its patterns to build new, healing neuropathways.

If you are interested in learning more or would like help integrating an experience, please reach out. A 1-hour intake is required before medication may be administered.

The table below is from a 2016 paper by Ken Tupper. It shows various psychedelic substances and what the potential therapeutic uses may be. Some missing include ibogiane for treating addiction and ketamine for treating depression.
